TaeKwonDo

Many martial arts styles can talk about their long, proud heritage extending back hundreds of years and we certainly appreciate their history and hard work. TaeKwonDo was born April 11, 1955 and in only half a century has achieved a level of success that no other martial art has ever come close to. TaeKwonDo (TKD) is now the world's most practiced form of self-defense. TKD is represented by World Championship competition teams in more than 100 countries and is the only martial art accepted as an official sport by the International Olympic Committee.
What makes TKD so popular? TKD is able to be practiced by all ages, young and old. It appeals to many because of the incredible power a TKD student can generate with a minimum of energy. Most often TKD is characterized by its flashy kicks and fantastic jumping technique, which makes it fun, fast, and athletic. But, we think its real popularity is in the practical self-defense technique and great total body workout.
